What Skin type are you?

When it comes to skincare all we think of are the products that help us keep our skin healthy, that’s right. But what makes you decide that the product you use the regime you follow is the right choice for you? Well let’s first start with determining the type of skin you have because that is the key step to getting healthy skin. There are 3 types of skin normally and those are OILY SKIN, DRY SKIN and COMBINATION SKIN and you can determine which category you belong to by simply using this simple technique which my friend suggested me when I was all confused all you do is wash your face before going to bed and without applying any creams or lotions or moisturizers and when you wake up the next day look in the mirror. What does your forehead, nose and chin look and feel like? If it’s oily or greasy then you have OILY SKIN, If it’s dry all around then you have DRY SKIN, But if you have both oily and dry parts on your face then you have COMBINATION SKIN. So now we have solved the most important step for healthy skin. Based on skin type people follow a regime, but sometimes you need to take a break from it because prolong use of chemicals may cause harm in the long run. Here are some tips you can use to rejuvenate your skin 🙂


Oil is necessary for your skin but excess of oil can be a problem 😥 . So all you have to do is bring the excess oil problem into control and that can be done by cleansing your face not more than twice a day using the right cleanser. Choose the cleanser that is gentle on your skin and gives no irritation after using it.But remember always to pat dry your face after washing it and keep a separate towel for your face and wash it off after several uses.


  • Apply yogurt to your face and wash it off after 15 mins with cold water. Yogurt absorbs the excess oil and opens the pores of your skin.
  • Squeeze out aloe vera gel and apply it on your face and let it dry, wash it off after the gel dries out with cold water.
  • Multani mitti or Fuller’s earth face pack is the best for oily skin as it absorb the excess oil and helps get rid of other impurities. Simply make a paste using multani mitti and rosewater and apply it to your cleansed face for minimum 20 minutes and then wash it off. You can also make a face pack using mulatni mitti and lemon juice.

When you out in the sun and feel your face has too much oil then simply just press it gently with a tissue and not rub it…! And if you use makeup then opt for powdered makeup options rather than creams {I read they are the best for people with oily skin}.


Most people don’t have problem with their dry skin when they have the right amount of oil to take care of the all the trouble, but what about others who don’t? Are you one of them? If yes, then keep reading friend. As I already mentioned oil in necessary for the skin to help protect it from becoming flaky, itchy, and other impurities. And so you need to treat your skin right way because having no oil protecting your pores is like an open invitation to germs and bacteria to seep in and cause problems. The causes for dry skin can be water deficiency, using harsh soap, or prolonged use of warm water to skin.


  • Cucumber is the best option to moisturize your skin. Simply make a cucumber paste and apply on your cleansed face and leave it on for some time and then wash it off. Try this paste twice a week and you will see the difference soon.
  • Mix milk {contains lactic acid which increases skin’s ability to retain moisture} and honey and apply it to your face avoiding the eyes and then wash it after 20 minutes.
  • Squeeze out aloe vera gel and apply it on your face and let it dry, wash it off after the gel dries out with cold water.

Always use moisturizer after pat drying your face after a wash {avoid moisturizers containing alcohol}. Increase intake of water so as to keep your skin nourished and hydrated. Also opt for high water content foods like watermelon, orange, strawberries, etc. And use coconut and almond oil to hydrate your skin.


People think having this skin type is great but that’s not true friends, because having two different skin types is not easy to maintain :/ .


  • Mix honey and lemon juice and massage it on your face and wash it after 2 minutes.
  • Well you can follow the REMEDIES I mentioned in the above categories.

And don’t forget to use a cleanser that are of cream or foam type and fragrance free. Moisturize your skin after cleansing it. And exfoliate twice a week to get rid of the dead cells. Try makeup samples and check its review before buying them. As well look for makeup’s that are made for your skin type.
